Huang Fei-Hung, the now famous Chinese boxer, teaches his martial arts at Pao Chih Lin Institute, in Canton. Gordon, a European businessman, who deals in import/export is looking for a good security guard for his Jade collection.. So ensues a martial arts tournament to decide who get's the job.. Mai Ken does not follow the warnings of Huang, and finds himself up against a thug, Lin Tien-Tao, who wounds him in their match at the tournament. Fei Huang gets framed for a death shortly thereafter, while Li Tien-Tao and Teng-Hsi plan to rob Gordon's valuable jade collection that he is going to send to Hong Kong by boat up the river from Canton. Li highjacks the ship and Gordon and his faithful men are dominated by Li's gang. Li takes the jade, but Huang Fei-Hung is looking to clear his name and some payback on these bitches!

Lo Wei remains internationally famous for directing Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan's first major movies. Cheng Pei-pei is now internationally famous for her superlative role in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. But both were superstars in Hong Kong for decades prior, so any teaming of the superlative "swordswoman supreme" and the vaunted director/writer/actor is cause for celebration. Kao Yuen joins them as a noble swordsman, and watch, too, for award-winning actor Ku Feng as the "Frontier Terror" in the evocative and effective "Martial Art World" adventure.

Taiwan's most glamorous screen couple, Ko Chun-Hsiung and Chang Mei-Yao, co-star in "Fallen Petals", a romance with the unique setting of Taiwan during World War II, when the island was a colony of Japan. Ko is drafted into the Japanese army and forced to leave his pregnant girlfriend behind. When he is presumably killed in action, Chang becomes a cabaret girl to support their baby. Thanks to director Pan Lei's sensitive scenario, the dramatic outcome is far from predictable.
