Chief Inspector Adam Raczek gets a new partner at his side. Inspector aspirant Vincent Ross becomes involved in a murder investigation before his first day on the job. Ironically, the 22-year-old Bastian Grutzke was murdered above his new apartment in Slubice. The day before, the German student helped him move into the house. Adam Raczek, who is interviewing witnesses at the scene of the crime, is amazed to get to know his new colleague in this way. The traces in the victim's apartment point to a dispute that seems to be related to escalating inheritance disputes in the Grutzke family. Bastian's grandmother, the matriarch Hilde Grutzke, keeps a considerable amount of cash at home and sometimes opens the door at gunpoint.
