Ananta Das is a normal middle class man like any other common man. Everyday he avails the 8:08 A.M Bongaon Local to Kolkata to attain his office. Some known and unknown common people are his companions throughout his journey everyday. He has seen many incidents, which created a deep impression in his life. One such incident was the murder of a brother who protested against a group of drunkards who were teasing his elder sister ("Rajiv murder case in Barasat"). Preliminarily he remained silent against all these incidents. But on one day, his protesting nature, inside him, burst out. He started protesting against each and every wrong deed, irrespective of the level of crime. As a result he stands out as a protesting person in front of other common people. He turns out to be the target of the leaders of the society.

Rupak marries Mukul but when they return to home, the bad guys deny to accept her as Rupak’s wife and continuously blame her for their sudden misfortune. Mukul leaves home with Joy to cure him. After consulting a doctor she sends Joy to "Ananda Ashram" under the supervision of Maharaj. On the other hand, Ahimama sends his friend's daughter Kitty to woo Rohit but when Kitty discovers their conspiracy they kill her. Slowly Rinki and Rohit understand that they are being misguided by their beloved uncle and aunt, but it is too late. Ahimama kidnaps Rupak and Mukul- Bakul's parents and kills Harikaka. So Mukkul Bakul and Joy come to rescue Rupak, fight bravely but Rupak and Rohit both die while fighting. Joy kills his Ahimama, takes his revenge, then goes to jail, writes his autobiography "Lakshyabhed" in jail and then is released from jail to live happily ever after with his family.

His wife is angry at him, and begins having an affair with the man who takes the birds to the market. Lakhinder's partner's daughter understands his relationship to the birds. They come to visit him in his lonely hut.

Meeting her husband's visiting friend from college, a leader of an economic rebellion against the British, she takes up his political cause, despite her husbands warnings. As the story progresses, the relationship between the woman and the visitor becomes more than platonic, and the political battles, pitting rich against poor and Hindu against Moslem, turn out not to be quite as simple as she had first thought.

The story of an old peasant,Bancharam (Mitra),who defeats the tyrannical landlord Chhakari (Dey).Inheriting a dry patch of land, Bancharam converts it into a fabulous garden.The British magistrate supports him when Chhakari attempts to acquire the garden, after which he dies. Chhakari's son Nakari tries a new stratagem: he promises Bancharam Rs 100 every month provided Bancharam bequeaths his garden to the landowner after his death. Bancharam agrees but amazingly becomes healthier with every passing day, repeatedly promising to die but failing to do so. Come the appointed day, Nakari arrives with the funeral band and finds Bancharam glowing with health. Nakari collapses on the prepared funeral bed and dies instead.
