Since the ban on use of animals in circus shows, the Great Sumatra Circus faces a major financial crisis. Baron, who owns the circus, accepts unseemly proposals from the mayor to hold cattle auctions, rallies and other alternative events at the circus. The telenovela focused on the life of an illegal immigrant to the United States and the lives of those she left behind in Brazil. It stars Deborah Secco and Murilo Benício. It was written by Glória Perez and directed by Jayme Monjardim and Marcos Schechtman. In 2009, Telemundo began airing a Spanish-dubbed version of this series and ran for approximately one year. The network aired the series from Monday to Friday in the daytime. Unlike most of its soap operas, the network didn't broadcast English subtitles as closed captions on CC3.

Authored by Aguinaldo Silva and Ricardo Linares, with the collaboration of Maria Elisa Berredo, Mark Silver and Nadotti Nelson and directed by Marcos Paulo Roberto Naar and Luiz Henrique Reis, had the general direction and core Marcos Paulo. Featured actors Adriana Esteves, José Mayer, Eva Wilma and Ary Fontoura leading roles in the plot.
Mulheres de areia is a Brazilian telenovela produced by the Rede Globo and aired from 1 February 1993 though 25 September 1993, in 203 chapters. It was written by Ivani Ribeiro with the contribution of Solange Castro Neves and directed by Wolf Maya, Ignácio Coqueiro, Andre Schultz and Carlos Magalhães. It is a remake of the soap opera of same name that aired at defunct Rede Tupi from 1973 to 1974, when Eva Wilma portrayed the two main characters of the plot.
