The show takes place from 1944 to 2002 and follows the lives of three families: the Crawfords, who seek to cover up the Roswell crash and the existence of aliens; the Keys, who are subject to frequent experimentation by the aliens; and the Clarkes, who sheltered one of the surviving aliens from the crash. As a result of the decades-long storyline, not a single actor or character appears in every episode of the series. Reception was positive, and the series won an Emmy Award. When the show was launched, the Sci-Fi Channel used the simultaneous establishment of the organization Coalition for Freedom of Information in its promotion campaign. Both the Sci-Fi Channel and the Coalition for Freedom of Information are clients of Washington, D.C. public relations firm PodestaMattoon, and this apparent co-mingling of clients was criticized. Toonsylvania is an animated television series, which ran for 2 seasons in 1998 on FOX's Saturday morning cartoon block in its first season, then was moved to Tuesday afternoons from September 14, 1998 until December 21, 1998, when it was cancelled. Reruns aired until 2000. It was produced in part by Steven Spielberg, following in the footsteps of his previous animated series, Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs. Much like Animaniacs, the show had recurring cartoon series that appeared in each episode. Unlike Animaniacs, Toonsylvania didn't have a wide range of characters and almost every episode had the same cartoon segments.

Matt Frewer provided the voice of Lloyd Christmas, while Bill Fagerbakke voiced the character of Harry Dunne. The animated series was written by Bennett Yellin, co-writer of the original film. The series was cancelled after one season. It aired in reruns on Cartoon Network after its cancellation. In Britain the series was screened on the Cartoon Network before receiving terrestrial airings on Channel 4.

Max Headroom is a British-produced American satirical science fiction television series by Chrysalis Visual Programming and Lakeside Productions for Lorimar-Telepictures that aired in the United States on ABC from March 1987 to May 1988. The series was based on the Channel 4 British TV pilot produced by Chrysalis, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future. The series is often mistaken as an American-produced show due to the setting and its use of an almost entirely US cast along with being broadcast in the USA on the ABC network. Cinemax aired the UK pilot followed by a six-week run of highlights from The Max Headroom Show, a music video show where Headroom appears between music videos. ABC took an interest in the pilot and asked Chrysalis/Lakeside to produce the series for US audiences. The show went into production in late 1986 and ran for six episodes in the first season with eight being produced in season two.

The Max Headroom Show started life in the UK in 1985. It was made by Carlton TV and shown on Channel 4 with an initial season of 6 shows. The show featured actor Matt Frewer playing the role as computer-generated talk-show host Max Headroom. It returned in 1986 for a second season of ten episodes plus a Christmas special. The first season was Max playing music videos, often in multiple parts as he interrupted them. He had a guest each week in a lounge bar setting with him on a TV on the bar. The interviews were brief and always managed to get onto the subject of Max's obsession with golf. Each episode was preceded by Max's intro which said "He's the toast of the town. He's the non-fattening sugar substitute in your tea. He's a bon vivant, a gaucho amigo, a goomba, a mensch, and the fifth musketeer. He's the apple of your eye and aren't you glad he's here. Direct from a wax and shine at the carwash around the corner, it's the man of the hour, or at least for a good thirty minutes, Max Headroom." The second season, known as The Max Talking Headroom Show was a bigger show and had a studio audience which Max would interact with, especially for his regular quiz. In most cases the winner never got their prize, or the quiz never happened, sometimes because he ran out of time after explaining the rules which were different each week. Most weeks there was a performance art type act in the studio. There was a guest each week too - sometimes in the studio, sometimes via another TV. Max would often sing comedic songs of his own in a crooner style.

Paw Paws, sometimes known as Paw Paw Bears, debuted as part of the weekday/weekend morning programming block The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. A group of small bears that lived in a tribal society, the cubs spent every day defending themselves from their enemies, The Meanos, led by the evil sorcerer, Dark Paw. The antagonist bear and his henchmen were after the Paw Paws' three large wooden totems, Totem Bear, Totem Tortoise, and Totem Eagle. The totems also served as the tribe's protectors, coming to life when needed through means of Princess Paw Paw's Mystic Moonstone, which she wore around her neck, to defend the village. Much like The Smurfs, Shirt Tales, The Snorks, Pound Puppies, or The Biskitts, the bears had names that denoted their personalities—Laughing Paw, Medicine Paw, Bumble Paw, etc. Brave Paw and Princess Paw Paw tended to be the leads, riding into adventures on their magical flying ponies, while aging Wise Paw served as tribal advisor. The mascot of the group was a tiny dog by the name of PaPooch. The cartoon featured the vocal talents of Don Messick, Frank Welker, Scatman Crothers, Ruth Buzzi and Billie Hayes, but it was the 1st HB cartoon that introduce the cartoon world to Susan Blu who went to do the original voice of Arcee in Hasbro's legendary cartoon series The Transformers. Reruns of the show currently air on Boomerang.
