After taking several years off to have children, nurse Clara Horn returns to work and begins to feel the effects of the much tougher daily routine at the clinic - pressure, stress and tension are the order of the day. When the young translator Medya is threatened by her family at night, she takes refuge in the apartment with her boss Nina, a war journalist.Over time, the isolation and proximity lead to an escalation revealing the different privileges of both women. The film negotiates the margins in the relationship of two women between work, friendship and love. Cultural differences and definitions of freedom blur the boundaries between power, dependence and desire.

Hatun "Aynur" Sürücü, a vibrant young Turkish woman and mother is murdered at 23 by her youngest brother in an honor killing. Forced into an abusive arranged marriage with a cousin in Istanbul at 16 by her devout Muslim family, Anyur escapes to Berlin and gives birth to a son. She is considered a disgraceful burden by her parents and siblings, so Anyur soon leaves her family and attempts to start a new life.
