A spin-off of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, Jack & the Sodor Construction Company (or Jack and the Pack) was developed by producer Phil Fehrle in 2003. It did not receive a release until 2006 when it was released direct to DVD. The reason why the spin-off was never taken further seems to be because HiT Entertainment did not want it to conflict with their own series Bob the Builder when it bought the rights to Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends in 2002. US DVD released as "On Site with Thomas and Other Adventures" containing six episodes and UK DVD released as "Thomas' Trusty Friends" containing eleven episodes of the series.

Created by Robin Steele and Brianne Leary, Stickin' Around is a Canadian animated children's television series from Nelvana, which originally aired on YTV in Canada and on ABC in Australia. In Latin America, it was broadcast by Nickelodeon under the title Los Grafitos. It was also aired in the United States on the Fox Family Channel from 1998 to 1999 as part of the series The Three Friends & Jerry, which was adapted on that channel as an anthology series. The show, which originated as a series of 1-minute vignettes on CBS in 1994, is about two children named Stacy and Bradley, their hand-drawn adventures with their friends and family, and their fantasies. Stacy and Bradley, best friends, encounter many problems they must face as they continue to grow up - if it is with school, bullies, friends, and parents. They always come up with imaginative ideas to eliminate these obstacles, such as becoming a superhero, and putting themselves in a different environment where they have no trouble in defeating their enemies. According to Nelvana, it uses the "advanced computer graphics of "Boiler Paint," virtually convincing us that kids are creating their own animated series." The show won the Gemini Award for "Best Animated Program or Series" in the spring of 1998, while being nominated once again during the fall of 1998, for the Gemini of the same award.

GBH was a seven-part British television drama written by Alan Bleasdale shown in the summer of 1991 on Channel 4. The protagonists were Michael Murray, the Militant tendency-supporting Labour leader of a city council in the North of England and Jim Nelson, the headmaster of a school for disturbed children. The series was controversial partly because Murray appeared to be based on Derek Hatton, former Deputy Leader of Liverpool City Council — in an interview in the G.B.H. DVD Bleasdale recounts an accidental meeting with Hatton before the series, who indicates that he has caught wind of Bleasdale's intentions but does not mind as long as the actor playing him is "handsome". In normal parlance, the initials "GBH" refer to the criminal charge of grievous bodily harm - however, the actual intent of the letters is that it is supposed to stand for Great British Holiday.
