For Jenny, in her mid 30s, everything is going great: Her career at the Munich Opera House is going uphill and in her friend Tobias she seems to have found the ideal man. But then the events rush: The new stage designer at the opera proves to be her ex-boyfriend Erik and a pregnancy test turns out to be positive. That's not enough, Jenny's free-spirited mother Jutta lodges with her and Tobias indefinitely. The casual hippy lady soon shakes up the orderly life of the couple. At the same time, Erik Jenny turns his head violently.

After the death of her husband, Anna tries to begin a new life with her children Paul and Laura on the North-Sea island Amrum. An ostrich-farm is the smart business-idea, which secures her family's future. As merchandising and to inspire her prospective customers for her products, she sends ostrich-eggs to the nearby restaurants on the mainland. But the first delivery turns into to a disaster. The shipping company that operates the ferry service to the mainland had left Anna's products in the sun too long, and all eggs spoiled before they got to their destination. Anna's optimism gets a serious blow and she is close to bankruptcy. Matthias, a lawyer and a good friend of Anna, supports her by all means in her fight against the shipping company owner and shyster, Reents. With great media interest and the aid of the sympathetic journalist, Marc stokes, Anna enters the fight against the nearly all-powerful adversary in order to force Reents to give up.

After much hesitation, the doctor, who fell in love, Peter Hauser finally managed to make his girlfriend Stella a marriage proposal. But when the two want to surprise his father Heinrich with the good news, the one holds much greater surprise ready: On holiday, he has fallen in love with the attractive widow Johanna and married her right away. Peter is anything but excited. He believes that Johanna is a notorious husband murderer. However, in trying to gather evidence of his suspicion, the awkward amateur detective moves from one fool to the next.

The ambitious business newcomer Marc wants to marry the successful lawyer Sandra. On paper, he is still married to Katrin, from whom he lives separately. Shortly before her wedding with the smart businessman Paul, the Munich veterinarian Nina learns that her beloved Aunt Charlotte is hospitalized with a heart attack. Nina immediately travels to Lake Chiemsee to visit Charlotte. Once there, her aunt asks her not to marry Paul - he is the wrong man for Nina. An alternative candidate has the older lady already ready: the sympathetic artist Daniel, who is about to move in with his little son at Charlotte.

Her daughter has just gone abroad for a school year when Anna's husband Rolf tells her that he wants a divorce. Anna, surprised and desperate, seeks refuge with her father Hannes. In her idyllic hometown, she meets her childhood sweetheart Nick again, whose wife took the life half a year ago. Nick's little daughter is so traumatized by this experience that she has not spoken out since. Anna cares lovingly for the child, and Anna and Nick come closer. But Rolf has since regretted his decision.

The cheerful Dr. Michael Mangold finally wants to marry his partner Lena Stern and get a whole bunch of children with her. One morning, two girls with a baby and a small dog are at the door. Actually, the kids wanted after the death of their parents to their uncle Jörg, Lena's ex-fiancé. Of necessity, Michael and Lena temporarily take the little ones with them. This kind of blessing soon brings in the orderly life of the couple for terrible confusion.

11-year-old Nina and her mother Birgit move to the countryside. But while Birgit seems to cope very well with the upheaval, the shy young girl only feels accepted when she joins a girl guide group. Nina's new teacher for Religious Education, the organizer of the group, and the parson belong to the fanatically pious "Legion Of The Holy Angels", a sect preparing its members for the final battle between demons and angels. As Birgi's behaviour doesn't conform to her daughter's ideas, Nina sacrifices a black kitten which allegedly has a bad influence on Birgit. But this only makes things worse, for Birgit eventually forbids her daughter to go to the scouts' sessions and thereby loses her trust. Nina's friend Miriam is having a hard time being accepted by the scouts and leaves them when she isn't allowed to participate in an important ceremony. Nina is faced with a difficult decision...
