Mommy's boy Juantxo is engaged. Dragged to the party by his friends Konradin and Paco, he loses his expensive wedding ring inside the body of a prostitute. Juantxo and his friends are trying to get the ring back and in the process get involved in the war between gangs.
In the French Basque Country, near Saint-Jean-les-Bains, young man Julien (Noriega) finds a corpse, buried with jewels, in an abandoned car near a ravine. Julien cannot resist the temptation and takes the jewels with him. He later learned from the press that the man in the car was killed. Maria (Galiena), the boarding lady who accommodates Julien, brings him into contact with a healer. Julien and Maria become lovers, cash in on the loot and flee. It is quite obvious that this does not lead to a happy ending and that the opportunistic amateur thief is confronted with professional criminals. Galiena, in particular, as an Italian hotel keeper, Maria, impresses in a beautiful drama written by Valérie Bonnier, Carlos Perez-Merinero, Luis Maria and Robert Valey.
Jim is the drummer for the great black musician Billy Swann. With him, he plays in a club called San Sebastián, owned by his friend Floro, every summer.
Juán Auzmendi, sacristan of a small Spanish village, decides to emigrate to America in search of new horizons. To pay for the trip, he steals the saving of his parish priest and begins the journey to the city of Pasajes, where he hopes to get on a ship. But Spain is again on the verge of a Civil War and the trip to the coast gets complicated.
In a well-acted historical drama about clashes between opposite ends of the economic and cultural spectrum, a literal witch hunt in a Basque village sets orthodox religion against pagan beliefs, feudal lords against the impoverished peasantry, abusive men against defenseless women, and in some ways, Spaniards against Basques. The witches are female and from the lower classes, the persecutors are wealthy white Christians. The story revolves around Garazi (Silvia Munt) whose grandmother is burned at the stake when convicted by the Spanish inquisitor of being a witch, something that brings Garazi under suspicion and eventually into prison. She is tortured in prison and raped by her rejected suitor, the vicious son of a local landlord. While Garazi is suffering her own pain, a struggle on a much broader scale is in the offing.
