Aalwar is a traditional priest. He is devoted to his mother and sister. But the villainous elements Lal, Vincent Asokan, kill the sister and mother. Aalwar, with revenge ringing in his mind, ends up as Shiva the killer, even while working as a ward boy in a hospital. Shiva is out to make a statement against the venal forces. He sees himself as some kind of avatar — in fact, he bumps off the baddies under the get-up's of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. In climax, Shiva turns up as Lord Narasimha and bumps off the last villain by placing him on his thighs and ripping apart his bowels and chest with his sharp claws.

He comes across Surya and Chandra (Charlie and Dhamu) and Hema (Shalini). They try to cheat Gautam (like many others) but fail in doing so. Hema finally realizes that he may actually have a disease. She and her father, Dr. Rajsekhar (Raghuvaran) try to help him out. After examing his's subconscious mind, Raghuvaran finds out that he's suffering from split personality and has forgotten a lot of things.

Siva is an honest police officer who was brought up by the judge Sathyamoorthy, when his mother died. Sathyamoorthy has two sons : Aravind and Raja. The influential smuggler Mudaliar often clashes with Siva and Sathyamoorthy. Siva and the jolly college student Priya fall in love with each other, later they get married with Sathyamoorthy's blessing. One day, Raja rapes Mudaliar's daughter. The next day, Raja is found dead and Siva conducts the investigation. Ramesh admits to his father Sathyamoorthy that he killed his younger Raja. Sathyamoorthy decides to protect Ramesh at all costs while Siva wants to send Ramesh to jail. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
