In 1993, Nikita Mikhalkov made a feature film “Remembering Chekhov”. After the footage was edited, he realized that the film went wrong. thus he made a difficult decision – not to show it to a wide audience. almost 30 years later, in his documentary “the film that went wrong”, the director tries to understand and analyze the reason for that failure. for the first time he will also show scenes from “remembering chekhov” to the audience.

The plot tells about the most dramatic chess match in the history of this sport. The game took place in 1978 in the Philippine city of Baguio: played for three months. This match, which got on the pages of textbooks, was replete with incredible collisions. In addition to his rival, Karpov at that time had to face the loss of his relatives, the betrayal of his comrades-in-arms, the intrigues of the CIA and pressure from party functionaries.

This dialogue-free short film, Devochka I Veshchi (A Girl and Things), was one of Mikhalkov’s first student films, made under the tutelage of Mikhail Romm, himself a legendary filmmaker. Made by the team of young and incredibly talented artists that besides Daneliya included writer/poet Gennady Shpalikov, composer Andrei Petrov, and cinematographer Vadim Yusov (who had made four films with Andrei Tarkovski), and the dream cast of the talented actors even in the smaller cameos, "I Am Walking Along Moscow" keeps walking victoriously through the decades remaining deservingly one of the best and most beloved Russian comedies and simply one of the best Russian movies ever made. Funny and gentle, dreamy and humorous, romantic and realistic, the film is blessed with the eternal youth and will always take to the walk on the streets of Moscow new generations of the grateful viewers.
