In a hospital in Hamburg, an unidentified woman is disconnected from the life-support system. While the investigators search for the mysterious perpetrator, two more men are murdered.

In “Death Angel”, Jakob Ziemnicki's film adaptation of the novel “Walküre” by Craig Russel, Peter Lohmeyer alias Jan Fabel does everything possible to eradicate his most bitter flesh as an investigator: the Hamburg chief commissioner once again chases one of the press as the “angel of St. Pauli "described the serial killer who" punished "sex offenders ten years ago, remained undetected and is now apparently active again. However, the chief investigator, along with his crime logs played by Ina Paule Klink and Proschat Madani, comes across puzzling deviations from the previous victim scheme.

Superintendent Ann Kathrin Klaasen finds a dead woman in front of her house with her eyes taped open. When another corpse with its mouth stuffed with rotten food is found, she suspects a connection.

A series of ritual murders shakes Hamburg. First a songwriter is stabbed and scalped, then a scientist. Investigations by Kriminalhauptkommissar Jan Fabel lead into the left student scene of the 1980s. Both victims belonged to the environment of the terrorist Franz Mühlhaus, who was shot during a police operation. His followers could then start a new life. It quickly becomes clear: the key to the current murders lies in the case at the time.

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss, crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF 2 in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland. The first episode was broadcast on November 29, 1970. The opening sequence for the series has remained the same throughout the decades, which remains highly unusual for any such long-running TV series up to date. Each of the regional TV channels which together form ARD, plus ORF and SF, produces its own episodes, starring its own police inspector, some of which, like the discontinued Schimanski, have become cultural icons. The show appears on DasErste and ORF 2 on Sundays at 8:15 p.m. and currently about 30 episodes are made per year. As of March 2013, 865 episodes in total have been produced. Tatort is currently being broadcast in the United States on the MHz Worldview channel under the name Scene of the Crime.
