Rat-Man è una serie televisiva di animazione ispirata all'omonimo fumetto della Panini Comics scritto e disegnato da Leo Ortolani. La serie, costituita da 52 episodi da 13 minuti ciascuno, fu realizzata e prodotta fra il 2005 e il 2006 da Stranemani e Rai Fiction. Alcuni episodi furono presentati in anteprima presso diverse manifestazioni dedicate a fumetti e all'animazione: Lucca Comics 2005, Romics 2005 (Roma, 8-11 dicembre), Future Film Festival (Bologna), Comicon (Napoli) e Rimini Comix (Rimini). Rai 2 iniziò a trasmettere la serie il 20 novembre 2006, interrompendo la programmazione dopo i primi 14 episodi; successivamente riprese a trasmetterli dal 16 giugno 2007 fino all'8 settembre. Successivamente la messa in onda degli episodi è stata sospesa definitivamente. Il 13 luglio 2009 la Rai ha poi ripreso la programmazione degli episodi sul canale digitale terrestre per bambini Rai Gulp. È recentemente rientrato nella programmazione di Rai Gulp, in cui sembra aver trovato il suo pubblico di riferimento "pre-adolescenziale", andando in onda nel fine settimana per poi essere reinserito durante la settimana in fascia preserale.
Like it happens with every family all around the world, also in Italy the spaghetti family, an average, pretty large and messy family, has its own problems. While the mum is the typical "mama", the father is a layabout and their kids, besides being terribly untidy,music lovers and no school lovers, are in eternal dispute with their parents. Just one thing makes them get along together... the unconditional love for spaghetti that they daily eat for lunch and dinner.
When genius cybernetics engineer Ted Lawson brings home his top-secret invention, a Voice Input Child Identicant or V.I.C.I., life becomes anything but mechanical for the Lawson Family. With his boss and his nosy family living next door, Ted, his wife Joan and their son Jamie must pass Vicki off as a real child. It is easy for Joan, who cannot help doting on her like a daughter, but harder for precocious Jamie, who uses Vicki to do his homework and to ward off Harriet, the annoying redheaded girl next door.
