In 1948, Hassan (Khaled El Nabawy) is working his first day on the job for a telegraph company when he has to deliver a telegram to Noura (Cyrine Abdelnour), a beautiful woman who is waiting on a ship docked in the harbor. The message is from Noura's fiancé, but when Hassan sees her, he acts on an impulse, and by the end of the day he's slept with Noura. In 1973, Hassan crosses paths with Noura again; her brother is in the hospital, and Hassan happens to meet Nadia, the beautiful woman's daughter who he may have fathered. And in 2001, elderly Hassan (now played by Omar Sharif) visits Cairo and meets Ali, Nadia's son, and both are taken aback at the similarities between them.

Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs DVD is hosted by Omar Sharif and includes interviews with Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Cairo Egypt, as well as may other individuals that were instrumental in organizing this exhibit. The exhibit includes 50 major artifacts excavated from Tutankhamun's tomb, including his royal diadem the gold crown discovered encircling the head of the king's mummified body that he likely wore while living and one of the gold and inlaid canopic coffinettes that contained his mummified internal organs. More than 70 artifacts from other royal graves are showcased as well, including those of pharaohs Amenhotep ll and Thutmose lV and the rich, intact tomb of Yuya and Tuyu, parents-in-law of Amenhotep lll and great-grandparents of Tutankhamun. All of the treasures in the exhibit are between 3,300 and 3,500 years old.

Now, forty years later, the lead character has changed his name to Pierre Zakar, because it is easier for the French to pronounce and relate to. He has also become a very successful playwright.
