In the 1950s, Taiwan's culture was impacted by different cultures of Japan, the United States and China, which can be said to be very complicated and chaotic. This film is based on the simple Taiwanese society in the 1950s. It tells about a group of young people's natural and complex emotions, such as enthusiasm and loneliness, during this chaotic transition period. The story focuses on four high school students, Yang Jialuo, you Fusheng, Gu Caizi, Guo Hao and Liu Guobao. In the film, they narrate and reflect on their growth with witty dialogue.

A naive young scientist unwittingly helps mobsters build a laser weapon, then has to try to reclaim it from them in this crime drama parody.
