The story is based on a boy called Bikram who was locally knows as Loafer. Once he helped one of his friend Bhashkar to get marry to his lover for which he was intitially arrsted. But his elder brother Rajib gave him bail. Loafer Bikram was a very helpful person but due to his attitude he was hated his entire family. Rajib's wife was always against him but she forgot that once when Loafer Bikram brought medicine at midnight breaking down the shutters of the store for her child, for which Loafer Bikram was arrested. In the mean while he fell in love with a girl called Tina whose father was a rich businessman. He disagreed with the realtionship of Tina with Loafer Bikram. Meanwhile Bikram's sister's marriage was fixed and an amount of rupees two lakh was needed. Loafer Bikram was offered some money by Tina's father to break his relationship with his daughter.

Famous Bengali private investigator Pradosh C. Mitter (Feluda) is hired by wealthy businessman Dinnanath Lahiri. His suitcase has been accidentally exchanged with someone on the Kalka Mail. Inside it is a valuable manuscript written by Shambucharan Bose. The case takes Feluda, Topshe and Jatayu to Shimla, where they discover a priceless diamond in a film container, disguised as a betel - nut. 'The Three Musketeers' face great danger in Shimla, before Feluda eventually solves the case.

Beautiful shots of the river, Ghosh's flair for realism and brilliant display of acting skills by noted actors of Bangladesh and West Bengal, including Utpal Dutt, Robi Ghosh, Abul Khayer, Raisul Islam Asad, Champa, and Rupa Ganguli, fetched the movie local and international honours.

Goopy Bagha Phire Elo (Bengali: গুপী বাঘা ফিরে এলো) (1992) is the third sequel of Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne series. It was directed by Sandip Ray and written by his father Satyajit Ray. This film was released eleven years after its predecessor Hirak Rajar Deshe.

Jamuna Bai is the daughter of a famous courtesan named Kamala Bai who was known in Benaras for dance. Although Jamuna had learnt music from her childhood, she was never willing to pursue her mother's profession. This led to the mother-daughter duo suffer from poverty and affront from commoners. Chandrakanta, a rich businessman sees Jamuna and falls in love with her. After a few meetings Jamuna starts liking him too. One day Jamuna finds a desolate boy child on the banks of the river and decides to raise him. Chandrakanta stands beside her when the society blames her for the act. They get married. However Jamuna stays back at Benaras and faces extreme hardships to raise the kid and is forced to step into her mother's shoes. This leads to a confront between her and Chandrakanta who leaves her and goes away. Jamuna leaves her kid with her guruji and starts living apart for the fear of her kid knowing her identity.

A well-off Indian family is paid an unexpected, and rather unwanted, visit by a man claiming to be the woman's long lost uncle. The initial suspicion with which they greet the man slowly dissolves as he regales them with stories of his travels, tales that are at odds with their conventional middle class perspective on the world.

The story of an old peasant,Bancharam (Mitra),who defeats the tyrannical landlord Chhakari (Dey).Inheriting a dry patch of land, Bancharam converts it into a fabulous garden.The British magistrate supports him when Chhakari attempts to acquire the garden, after which he dies. Chhakari's son Nakari tries a new stratagem: he promises Bancharam Rs 100 every month provided Bancharam bequeaths his garden to the landowner after his death. Bancharam agrees but amazingly becomes healthier with every passing day, repeatedly promising to die but failing to do so. Come the appointed day, Nakari arrives with the funeral band and finds Bancharam glowing with health. Nakari collapses on the prepared funeral bed and dies instead.
