In the year 50 BC, Gaul is occupied by the Romans - nearly. But the small village of Asterix and his friends still resists the Roman legions with the aid of their druid's magic potion, which gives superhuman strength. Learning of this potion, a Roman centurion kidnaps the druid to get the secret formula out of him.
Tintin and Captain Haddock receive an invitation impossible to turn down. Professor Calculus wants them to join him in Slydavia where he is working on the project of the century: to build a Moon-bound rocket! The already challenging task goes up a notch when Calculus suggests, to Haddick's dismay, they all fly together on this unique trip!
Professor Calculus invented a machine which breaks glass with sound waves. Some foreign countries (including a Totalitarian regime) are interested and send their spies. Tintin and Haddock must face perils to come and rescue the Professor.
