Chung Ka-po, Lam Siu-mei and Lee Ching-yee are sisterly buddies. Due to different reasons after graduation, the trio gradually go their separate ways. Ka-po is arbitrarily nominated by Siu-mei to participate in a school beauty contest organized by some magazine. Ka-po is eventually the unchallenged winner, and the Golden Agent Wing Yat-yin then convinces her to join his agency. Yat-yin encourages Ka-po to sign up for the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. However, Chung Ka-kei, who is Ka-po’s fellow contestant and also younger stepsister, frames her. And then Ka-po manages to enter showbiz, which is more like a “battlefield”. She also befriends Pong Chun-yu, who is the son of some tycoon. After the couple get married, Ka-po finds herself in another “battlefield” that is the domain of some distinguished family. Moreover, Ka-po is drifting away from her two bosom girlfriends. Is it actually jealousy, dignity, wealth or something else that causes the friends to go cold on each other?

Meanwhile, everybody gets anxious as certain secrets about the Mans are revealed and Cheuk-fung is abruptly taken away. At the brewery, Kai-shan’s younger brothers Kai-shek (Timothy Cheng), Kai-tsun (Gary Chan) and Kai-kong (Tsui Wing) want to divide the family fortune. And even outsider General Ko Shiu-wing (Andrew Yuen) is plotting to get his hands on a piece of the pie. With a 100-year history, Man Koon Brewery’s future is in doubt as it gets into such a precarious situation.

While on patrol duty, EU sergeant Ling Sun-fung and her team are called to assist a criminal chase. A gun battle erupts and Sun-fung loses her father, who dies from a stray bullet to the head. Sun-fung continues the pursuit, but a strange natural phenomenon suddenly turns her away, taking her back to April 1—three days prior to the incident. Realizing that she has travelled back in time, she uses this opportunity to save her father's life. Village chief "Ditch", an informant for the ICAC, discovers Sun-fung's special ability and teams up with her to investigate a corrupted cop. Unfortunately, their persistent disruption to the timeline causes severe butterfly effects, with unsettling consequences.

Famous barrister Sir Arthur Chung studied in England and lives a British lifestyle, but inside he's actually a traditional Chinese man. He married several wives to show off his power and upper-class status. First wife Koo Sam-lan was a rich girl; second wife is former Qing dynasty princess Aisin Gioro Yee-yin; third wife came from a family that owned banks Yvonne Yik; fourth wife is a famous Peking opera singer Hong Tsz-kwan; and the fifth wife Chui Dan-dan, a vanity admiring woman. Because Sir Arthur Chung is a strict and authoritarian father, his two sons Charles Chung and Jimmy Chung eventually start going against him. This wealthy and prominent family may seem warm on the surface, but in reality, they are scattered and disunited.

To unlock the critical information from the deranged man, Laughing must get the help of Fok, but this enigmatic figure has an agenda of his own...
