A mother and daughter relationship, set in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The 45 minute film is about Romita (Celina Jaitly Haag) who decides to introduce her live-in partner Usmaan "Azhar Khan" to her mother Suchitra "Lillette Dubey" who stays in a bungalow with her maid Chapala "Shree Ghatak". On a September noon, they visit Suchitra, a lady who lives alone after being separated from her husband. Ironically, she lives in a house 'Utsab' (meaning Festival) but she is lonely, often lost in her thoughts. Music is her only companion since her daughter travels due to work assignments and stays in a different city. Daughter's home coming is always celebrated in Bengal, just like Durga Puja.

A stunningly photographed dramatic story, backed by great actors like Raima Sen, depicts the inner struggles of the young, introvert Tagore who, in spite of his comfortable background, was constantly tortured but also inspired by love and terrible loss.
The last unfinished work of celebrated Indian director, Rituparno Ghosh, this 13-episode long television series was based on Miss Marple, the famous detective, created by Agatha Christie in her novels. It features Ranga Pishima, a character from Ghosh's film, Shubho Mahurat (2003). The only finished episode was broadcasted in June 2013 by Star Jalsha, as a tribute to the legendary director.

Abohomaan tells the story of Aniket, one of the finest filmmakers of Bengal in eastern India and the loves of his life.
