Fidgety Bram (seven years old) thinks a lot about the world around him. He is very much looking forward to enter the first grade. But then he ends up in the class of the strict teacher Mr. Fish. The straightfoward Mr. Fish doesn’t care about the inside world of the constantly moving around and unconcentrated little boy and does whatever it takes to make Bram do things the ‘right’ way. Bram’s parents struggle with the question of how much they should expect their son to adapt without becoming completely miserable.
Slightly absurdist story about a busy working mother who is left to herself when her husband forgets about their family outing. Stressed, she arrives at the fun fair with her children, where she is annoyed to find herself surrounded by all sorts of beaming families. A feeling of loneliness besets her. In her search for warmth and security, she not dispenses with her husband, but also her common sense.
The downtrodden alcoholic Herman needs professional help, and he never gets it. He decides that he should go to jail so that he will be taken care of there. He kills a local criminal but when he then tries to confess to the police, nobody believes him. Herman goes in search of a second victim. How far will he have to go to end up in jail?
