Childhood friends Yuma Minase and Sakura Asakura have been together through elementary school, junior high school, and high school. Sakura has always felt something for Yuma that he could never say to him. In their final summer of high school, Sakura confesses his feelings to Yuma and kisses him.

Koharu (26) is looking for a new job and she has older brother, Taichi (29 years old) who has taken care of Koharu in place of her mother who died in an accident when she was young. One day, Taichi disappeared from the sight of her family. Koharu and Taichi's fiancée Aki (age 25) head out to find Taichi.

In a seaside town where very little happens, middle school students Keisuke Isobe and Koume Satou live a rather dull life. But when Koume's crush breaks her heart, their situation becomes quite unordinary. Umibe no Onnanoko takes a harsh look at love, relationships, and the emotional price that will be paid as the result of a decision made between two teenagers.

Natsumi met Haruto at a drinking party and somehow ended up lending her shoulder for him to sleep on. Ever since that night, Haruto comes over to her house at 10:00 PM on Wednesday with the aim of sleeping on Natsumi's shoulders. Natsumi is timid when it comes to romance. Nitobe and Sakamoto are childhood friends who now work at the front desk of a capsule hotel. Nitobe has a particular fondness for philosophy and crustaceans. Sakamoto, meanwhile, is fixated on suicide. The capsule hotel draws a variety of guests, including a Finnish mother who has lost her child, a fugitive woman, and a researcher studying Daphnia. None of their lives ever intersect. They exist, but never cross, like cells in a capsule hotel. The themes of life and death are explored through a fragmentary view of the characters’ lives.

One day, information about a party whose sender is unknown arrives at Yuri's home. Although the invitation was a bit dubious, the same thing arrived at Masato, so they decided to join the party with a light feeling. Arriving at the meeting place marked on the guide, there were five men and women of the same generation and one middle-aged man. From there, the eight drive to the party campsite by wagon, where they will be forced to join a party that can never be turned back.
