He established himself as a bona fide star the night he dethroned Samoa Joe for the ROH World Title. He asserted his dominance as an ROH World Tag Team champion alongside Roderick Strong. He cemented his status as the Ace of ROH with his 3 match series against Bryan Danielson. So what was next for Austin Aries? Making history once again by becoming the only two-time World champion in Ring of Honor history...

Controversial, out-spoken, brash…those are just three words that describe the man known worldwide as CM Punk, and during his tenure in Ring of Honor, he more than lived up to those labels. But for three months in the summer of 2005, Punk shocked Ring of Honor fans & officials alike and it all began one night in June when ROH gathered to bid farewell to one of their own as Punk challenged for the ROH World Title one final time. What happened that evening kicked off three months of chaos as Punk took the World Title hostage and left ROH scrambling to find the man that would dethrone him. They were three of the most exciting, unpredictable, chaotic months in ROH’s history, and they have since come to be known as “The Summer of Punk”…

Wrestling Society X was a short-lived professional wrestling-based television series produced in 2006 by Big Vision Entertainment. The weekly television series formerly aired on MTV, MTV2, MTV Tr3s, and over a dozen other MTV outlets throughout the world. WSXtra, an extra program featuring WSX matches and interviews not broadcast on television, was available on the promotion's MTV website and Video on Demand. WSX was presented as a secret society of wrestling that used a venue referred to as the WSX Bunker, complete with an artificially worn-out looking ring for its matchups. In matches held within this venue, falls count anywhere was the stipulation. The program also stood out due to its unorthodox approach to pro wrestling; this included frequent use of highly expressive plants, crowd sound effects, electrical sound effects, visual effects, and camera shaking when a wrestler would fall prey to electrical weapons. Along with wrestling, WSX featured musical guests playing at the start of each television broadcast, with some band members joining the broadcast team after the performance.

Since its inception, Ring of Honor has prided itself on presenting the absolute best professional wrestling on the planet with the top athletes not just from the United States but from around the world. In that endeavor, we have been graced with the presence of numerous wrestlers from the world of Japanese Puroresu; from young up & comers to the legends of the squared circle, ROH has been home to them all over the years. Be it Jushin 'Thunder' Liger & The Great Muta or Go Shiozaki & Dragon Kid, they have all competed here and enriched the great history of ROH.

Legendary...for 645 days and through 29 successful title defenses, that is just one of many words that describes the ROH World Title reign of Samoa Joe. Unstoppable...that is what Joe proved to be as he barreled through one challenger after another. Homicide, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Paul London, an d even CM Punk, not one of them were able to stop the onslaught of the man who elevated the ROH Title first into a World Title and then into the most prestigious championship in professional wrestling today. Samoa Joe was a true one man wrecking crew as he demolished his opponents with a mix of brutality and finesse that will likely never be touched by any other warrior.

2004 was a turbulent year for Ring of Honor but also one of growth & change. From first-time travels to Chicago and St. Paul to the rise of Austin Aries and the debut of legends like Mick Foley & Ricky Steamboat, it was twelve full months of excitement and, as always, the best wrestling on the planet.

Thirty-eight is a number that may stand forever in the Ring of Honor history books. It is a number that represents a class of excellence seldom seen in professional wrestling, it is a number that set the bar for all ROH World Champions to come. What is thirty-eight? It is the number of successful World Title defenses accomplished by Bryan Danielson in his reign as champion and it is a number only one other man has matched. The list of the competitors who attempted to wrestling the belt from the possession of Danielson read's like a who's who of the top talent in the wrestling world: Roderick Strong, Lance Storm, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, and KENTA, just to name a handful. For 462 days one wrestler after another made it their mission to dethrone Danielson and for 462 days each of them failed.

"Talent on loan from God" - that is how Alex Shelley referred to himself the night Generation Next made its debut in Philadelphia and given the amazing wrestling abilities he has displayed throughout his career, it's a nickname hard to discredit. Even before he helped found the group, during his tag team and subsequent rivalry with Jimmy Jacobs, Alex Shelley demonstrated gifts few wrestlers possess and it only blossomed further under the GenNext banner.
