Sean Oliver

In the newest Kayfabe Commentaries DVD release, Sean Oliver and the gang are back and “Breaking Kayfabe” with: the homicidal, suicidal, genocide, death-defying maniac known the world over as… Terry Brunk… well, Sabu (as he’s more commonly known).

Honestly, I went into this shoot interview with very little expectations. Breaking Kayfabe episodes can go in any number of directions, and I knew this would be very different from the previous installment, which featured Jim Cornette discussing his run in ROH. I will say that I’ve always been somewhat interested in the career of Shane Douglas.

Our latest guest to bare their soul on our newest series probably has more to sift through than any guest to date. Tammy Sytch's battery of arrests and rehab visits has catapulted her back into the national spotlight in unflattering portrayals in every media outlet.

Sean asks Marty about living the rockstar life in the 80’s and the Rockers name. Marty says that Verne Gagne wanted to have a team like the Rock n’ Roll Express then goes off topic and talks about Verne slamming someone down at a nursing home.

Go back in time with Leon White and relive the birth of the Vader character, the creation of his entrance gear, and ultimately, his biggest matches. Leon sits down and watches the matches play before his eyes, as he relives every moment with you. Now, the shoot-style interview focuses on the individual matches and moments that made the legends what they were. Now you can examine the most poignant and profound in-ring moments with Leon “Baby Bull” White, Big Van Vader, Vader…whoever he was at the time! Join Leon White…at Ringside!

To understand what ECW became, we must learn from where it came. In a wrestling world invaded by Goons, pig farmers, and Sparky Plugs, there would soon operate a wrestling church in South Philadelphia. That site preached gospel to wrestling fans longing for some danger and believability. And for this very special edition of the series we head back to that very location, the former ECW Arena. Our guest for this exploration of the very inception of ECW is the founder, Tod Gordon. Tod will take you inside everything that formed the company and fostered the identity that the big feds would try to emulate. From humble beginnings to sudden glory, this is the tale of how it happened! Plus a great bonus feature as Tod takes us through the former ECW Arena!

This is the series premiere of Supercard, which allows us to explore the biggest nights in wrestling as the stars of the show re-experience the night with us. At the height of pro wrestling's 1980's explosion, the legendary Hulk Hogan was heading to the second Wrestlemania against a bohemoth, set to destroy him in a steel cage. A big, blue one, no less. That was all the setup needed for the fans to flock to 3 arenas, pay-per-view, and closed circuit screens. Join guest King Kong Bundy as he re-experiences this historic date with us.

Before Francine became a sex symbol for the most violent, depraved organization in wrestling, she was a regular Philly girl. She was working a menial insurance job with wrestling nowhere on her radar. On a whim, she grabs the phone and calls a number she sees on TV for the ECW training school. The rest is hardcore history. The ECW landscape was pretty tough so now you’ll hear how this lady, as tough as her character, managed to navigate that road and come out on the other side. Francine fought through great personal tragedies as well as great disappointment over accusations aimed at her from an ECW talent on a KC show. Tear-jerker and laugh riot, all the same, this edition of Breaking Kayfabe stands as all do–part interview, part therapy…all shoot.

Breaking Kayfabe with Sean Waltman & Sean Oliver

Atop the tag team division in the WWE in 1981 stood a fiery youngster and his brother figure both of who had the looks and the brawn to bring fans to their feet all over the Northeast. They slammed Moondogs battled Samoans, and were high-flying champions full of excitement. Head back to 1981 with Rick Martel and enter the locker rooms walked by Vincent J. McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon, Capt Lou Albano and the legends of yesteryear. This may have been a simpler time in the business, but the lessons learned were hard and so was the road. Come into the venues of yesteryear and see who was getting over and who wasn't. This is the real deal...a time with no cable TV, no pay-per-view, and one hour of syndicated TV per week...and the arenas were packed.

From the Crockett days in the mid-80s up to it's purchase in 2001, the WCW was the staunchest competitor, igniting the famed Monday night wars. But in this edition we take you back to times that weren't so glorious. Four Horseman member Barry Windham travels back to 1991 with us as we look at some odd booking decisions and the period in the company between the glorious 80s and the high octane 90s.

As Told by The Rock N Roll Express

After a remarkable run of 454 days as a heel champion, The Honky Tonk Man would help usher in a new era of champion in WWE history by losing to The Ultimate Warrior. The match was 27-seconds. But Lord, the road to that decision was no-where near as short. Political wranglings with McMahon and Savage would cause this swift end to a historic reign. THE OPPONENT: It may have been The Ultimate Warrior in the ring that night at the inaugural Summerslam but Honky’s real opponents were, in actuality, all outside of the ring. THE ANGLE: Was it Savage? Jake Roberts? Beefcake? Warrior? Just what was the driving angle that led up to Summerslam? We will iron it all out here. THE SHOT: Head back to NYC for the first Summerslam and the fascinating and heartbreaking journey that got HTM there!

Every YouShoot features a guest that gets people talking. And this is no exception as the man that everyone asked us to find, finally resurfaces and takes the hotseat! The highs were high, and the lows were quite low, as you'll see in this spellbinding and hilarious edition of the one and only YOUSHOOT!

Uncensored, unapologetic, and revolutionary...are we talking about YouShoot or Amazing Kong? That could be debated as our latest guest to take the "YouShoot oath" - ask me anything - sits down and shoots with YOU about everything you had for her. From the ring, to the locker room, to the bedroom, Kong sets it straight. Amazing Kong is pro wrestling's most dominant female wrestler with a reputation stretching across the globe, from U.S. to Japan. But you may be shocked to see just how down to earth and fun she really is. Get ready...Kong shoots on YOU, right here on the only shoot series conducted entirely by the fans... ...YOUSHOOT!

STAND BACK! YouShoot has returned with another of the wrestling business' most brave participants. Shane Helms came to national prominence as the character The Hurricane, and he has come to be known as one of the funnier storytellers in wrestling. Here in the YouShoot forum, you sent everything you had for Helms and he answered it all...from drunken brawls with Jericho, to heat with Michaels...from superheroes to sex...Shane extends his Southern hospitality to you and answers all of your questions. Shane shows himself to be honest and entertaining and still come off as a genuinely nice guy. In wrestling??? See for yourself in the series that changed the game...the one, the only...YOUSHOOT!

If ever a reputation preceded someone into the Breaking Kayfabe seat, it might be this one. Teddy Annis "Hart", nephew of Bret and the Hart brothers, makes headlines.

The white-hot Four Horsemen were storming through Jim Crockett Promotions as 1987 began. Fans came out by the tens of thousands to see them hopefully get their comeuppance. They were hated, and loved for being hated. But no one knew that an implosion to that original Horsemen line-up was coming. Heck, who thought Ole would ever be cheered?! But as good as business was, subtle shifts began to signal potential trouble. Crockett moves his entire operation to Dallas upon expanding there, incurring sizable expenses. Ron Garvin would win the Heavyweight title as houses began to suffer. What was to come? Join arguably the most hated member of wrestling's most notorious faction ever, as Tully Blanchard sits down with you to draw back the curtain on everything happening in 1987.

Breaking Kayfabe with Scott Levy & Sean Oliver

Before taking the identity of WCW Jim Crockett Promotions, would get national exposure on WTBS after buying the slot from Vince McMahon for $1 Million. Their stars were now stars all over the country, and our guest for this edition was becoming the biggest babyface in the company. Magnum TA had just arrived from Mid South and was taking the territory by storm, heading towards the US Title and becoming the #1 challenger for Flair. He'd feud with Tully, battle Flair and help JCP begin its transition to what would become know as WCW. 1985 is the first year in our journey, so come along and join Magnum and hear about the red hot year that would propel the company into a decade and a half wild ride.

The venerable manager of the Four Horsemen and trusted WCW office member JJ Dillon is the next star to jump in the Kayfabe Commentaries time machine. The time the year is 1988 in WCW and Ted Turner is about to step in and buy the company from the Crockett family. They're beginning to feel the battle wounds as WWE and WCW begin running big events against each other. The war is in high gear. J.J. Dillon takes us inside the company and also inside the office, as he was working for the Crocketts there as well. Hear how torn he was as Arn and Tully, his benchmark Horsemen benchmark, jump to the WWE. A star is born as Sting main events against Flair. But did he ever really 'have it?'

Some say it was the pinnacle of the ECW movement. It was the year 1996 and the company was all wrestling fans could talk about. The crew of misfits and rebels were becoming stars and to here this current guest describe it...The life of excess would mark 96 as one of the 'lost years.' But Raven remembers enough to take you inside the renegade federation in this explosive year of 1996.

With 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan

Was he evil incarnate? The twisted leader of the Dungeon of Doom stable was busy on both sides of the camera in 1996 as some very familiar faces to WWE fans begin popping up on WCW TV and were preparing a takeover of the company. This formation of the now would launch WCW over the top, as it would soon over take WWE in the ratings. Kevin Sullivan was booking the WCW, but it was getting really crowded in those decision making meetings. It seemed everyone had an opinion and Hulk Hogan's creative control clause would lead to some of the oddest decisions in pro wrestling, as many in power could only sit back and watch.

It's January 1989 and significant changes are coming for WCW. There would soon be a change in bookers with Dusty heading out. Jim Herd is taking the helm as executive vice president of the company and within a year a series of confounding decisions would result in damaged ratings, confusion in creative, a nearly empty Superdome, Ding-Dongs and a disappointing Bash tour. Jim Cornette returns to the timeline series and now takes you inside the WCW in 1989. He's brought along all his paperwork from the company for that year...TV formats, ratings, reports, journal entries...for a ride that's as entertaining as it is informative. It's classic Corny as he takes us back to a time in WCW that has to be heard to be believed.
