Thursday resulted from the famous Danish CPH-Dox projects whereby two filmmakers (one European, one non-European) collaborate. Suwichakornpong and Kameric wrote visual dialogues from Asia and Europe, as it were.

In 1993 Sarajevo was under the siege. Against all odds a small group of enthusiasts managed to open the First War Cinema in Sarajevo. For them this cinema was a distinction between surviving and being alive. Twenty years afterwards the marks of being alive resurface.

Filmmaker Hermann Vaske explores the creative Balkan world in the hopes of understanding the meaning of "Balkan spirit".
