Serena Vergano

Daniel is a man who wants to escape from a reality that overwhelms him. That is why he imagines, invents and lies for pleasure. Such invention will lead him to live strange and unusual adventures, giving rise to a magical comedy about everyday life seen through his eyes.

A man (José Luis López Vázquez) walks into a bar and shoots four people dead. Next day everybody is talking about the murders. The police know who the killer is and have his photo, but the man himself remains at large. Blanca (Serena Vergano), a lonely librarian, receives a letter from him, declaring his love for her. Apparently he has been a regular at the municipal library, although Blanca denies ever having noticed him.

They are finally forced into action by the police who are, somewhat ineptly, hunting them down.

The cigar-smoking French writer, George Sand (Lucia Bose) and her lover, the composer-pianist Chopin (Christopher Sandford) have rented a former monastery in Mallorca as a winter retreat. They have even shipped a piano to the site, so that Chopin can continue his work. However, what promised to be a warm, sunny vacation turns sour as the locals disapprove of Sand, the servants are surly and mysterious, and the monastery is cold. She has her revenge, however. She wrote the book A Winter in Mallorca about her miserable winter retreat. This film follows that book closely, with concern for historical accuracy, which did not increase the Spanish filmmakers' popularity with their countrymen.

John leaves for Barcelona in search of Cristina, who two years ago went to the city. On arrival he is hosted in a cousin's house and there he meets Monica that falls madly in love with him. When he finally finds Cristina, things do not happen as he expected, the time and the city have changed her and she is not sure to continue the relationship. Meanwhile, Monica tries unsuccessfully to call the attention of John.

His star began to fall rapidly and so goes into a clinic to cure his pain. Coming out, away from his audience, will spend some time at a house that is in the North, to the seashore. There he feels haunted by the story of characters who have lived in a nearby house, in one of which identifies his former secretary.

What opens as a playful evocation of natural shapes and hues quickly turns into an allegorical psycho drama set in a white cube and driven initially by Bach. The performers’ gestures, sudden intrusions of colour(s) as well as the chosen fabrics tell it all.

A man and a woman, both disappointed with their partners, meet by chance at the beginning of the night. They will spend the night together drinking red wine in Barcelona's Chinatown.
