New Japan Pro Wrestling will be making its return to Ryogoku Sumo Hall on April 4th, 2021 for Sakura Genesis, an event that was once an annual fixture of the New Japan calendar. Due to both their trip to the US in 2019 and the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020, this will be the first time in three years that this event will take place. As the beloved cherry blossoms fall at roughly 5 centimeters per second outside of the Sumo Hall, inside of it will be one of the most controversial shows in New Japan’s history as the first-ever IWGP World Heavyweight Championship defense will take place in the main event as Will Ospreay challenges Kota Ibushi.

The night after the climactic Wrestle Kingdom 15 at the Tokyo Dome, New Japan Pro Wrestling kicked off their first round of feuds for 2021 at New Year Dash!! at Tokyo Dome City Hall. The G1 (Grade One) Climax is a professional wrestling tournament held each August by the New Japan Pro-Wrestling promotion. Though it has sometimes been held as a single-elimination tournament, it is usually (and currently) held as a round-robin, with winners from two blocks wrestling in the final to decide that year's winner. In its current format, the tournament lasts four weeks. The winner of each block is determined by a points system; two points for a victory, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. The show was headlined by Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Bad Luck Fale. This was the fourteenth event under the Wrestling Dontaku name.

Wrestle Kingdom 11 in Tokyo Dome was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The event took place on January 4, 2017, in Tokyo, Japan, at the Tokyo Dome. The event was main evented by Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Kenny Omega.

King of Pro-Wrestling (2017) was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), which took place on October 9, 2017, in Tokyo at Ryōgoku Kokugikan. It was NJPW's biggest show between August's G1 Climax and January's Wrestle Kingdom 12 in Tokyo Dome. The top two matches featured Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Evil and Tetsuya Naito defending his status as the number one contender to the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 12 against Tomohiro Ishii. This was the sixth event under the King of Pro-Wrestling branding.

NJPW 45th Anniversary Event took place on March 6, 2017 from the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. NJPW Anniversary Event celebrates the anniversary of the first event held by NJPW on March 6, 1972. The main event for the 45th Anniversary show was Kazuchika Okada taking on Tiger Mask W.

NJPW Road To Tokyo Dome Night 6 took place in Tokyo, Japan on December 20, 2014. The main event was a six man tag featuring Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & Togi Makabe taking on Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura & Tomohiro Ishii.

The second King of Pro-Wrestling was held on October 14, 2013, in Tokyo at Ryōgoku Kokugikan. The event featured nine matches, four of which were contested for championships.

Fantastica Mania 2011 was the name of two professional wrestling major shows produced that took place on January 22 and January 23, 2011 in Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The event was the first ever co-promoted events between Japanese New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and the Mexican Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and features matches with wrestlers from both promotions and both NJPW and CMLL championships being defended.
