Mr. Balboa had a heartless grandson who, at the time, was kicked out of the house (a fact concealed from his wife). Since then he had forwarded himself letters sent in theory by his grandson in order to please his wife. The real grandson decides to go home (looking for money) but the boat where he was traveling sinks. Balboa hires an impersonator and master of beneficial illusions (Mauritius) and together with a cute girl (Isabel), they pretend to be the missing grandson and his "happy wife" to the grandmother, who is very pleased with the guest. But then comes the surprise...the real grandson is alive and he is on his way to return home.

The passage of time and the outside world only guess through the windows and objects that come with the characters. The set is a great solitude, possible in a city of the blind.

She takes him appart from the 'bad road' and they then work as child party's magitians. One day, while she was away in a bussines trip, her car cracks up in the middle of the highway, during a storm. She is picked up by an mental hospital's bus that takes her there. Now she cannot get out because everyone thinks she is mental sick.

On the thinnest of pretexts, a horde of homeless people descend on the apartments of two members of the comfortable middle class and proceed to loot and vandalize both homes, leaving the next morning with many of the belongings they found there, as well as one of the residents who has opted to join them. Eduardo, a typical bourgeois man from Mexico City, goes on a business trip to a province, accompanied by his lover. While there, he picks up a large sum of money and, after a spat with his lover, sets off on his drive back to the city alone. On the way, his car gets stuck in the mud and he's helped by four campesinos who ask him for a ride to the city in return. The trip proves extremely tense for Eduardo, who's increasingly gripped by paranoid fears that the men intend to rob and murder him.
