In one of the modern buildings in Hong Kong, a group of well dressed middle-class people are attending a party held by a medical college. Among them are Ka Ho, a doctor, and his sexy partner Mary, a crime woman and a booty buyer from Japan, a German killer named Stefan, a sexy undercover cop for catching a lawless merchant. All these people, not knowing each other, met more than once on the morning of that day. A lucky draw is being held on the stage, everybody has a 'lucky number'. Suddenly four unexpected guests come. The film centers around a writer, Alan Tam (Anthony Wong), who has spent the last decade in a mental hospital. Upon leaving, he rents an apartment in an abandoned building which contains a clock that sends him back to 1984. The only person that can hear Alan during this time is one of the previous tenants, a young girl named Dolphin (Dolphin Chan). A strange romance soon develops between the two, and so when her sister Whale (Perrie Lai) begins dating a suspicious professor (Lawrence Ng), Alan helps Dolphin to find out the shocking truth about her sister's beau.

After a brief exchange, Pak-Lam realizes the thief has a harmless and non-aggressive attitude and decides to shelter him in his secret makeshift hideout, not knowing his new friend has in his possession a bag of stolen jewels, in which both the police and the gangsters are searching for.

Kenny Bee works for a large Hong Kong corporation who's business practice is not exactly honorable. But he is being promoted to upper management with all its perks. Cherie Chung is a woman reporter working for Hong Kong TV station who is trying to expose the corrupt practice of the company Kenny works at. By chance they get together by being shoved into the same taxi while they're totally drunk. They again meet while grocery shopping, but they get robbed and Kenny can't go back to his home without money for the ferry. This starts a relationship between them, and from conscience, Kenny decides to expose the corruption within his company. Vivian Chow plays a secondary role as semi love triangle between Cherie and Kenny.
Scriptwriter Zee is a confirmed bachelor. Hero Wain is his devoted butler. Next door is no-good detective Gho and his complaining wife Kit. Kit is beautiful and vain. Zee takes Goh to a macho convention chaired by young and handsome Mau. Without Goh knows, Kit works as a waitress there. She falls heavily for Mau. Zee gets the highest prize - a beautiful slave girl. She immediately turns the Zee household upside down. Zee wants to escape. Goh learns Kit's romance with Mau. He asks Zee for help. But Mau defeats their every move. The slave girl becomes the master mind. She devices the plan and unveils Mau as a slave trafficker. Above all, she proves woman is much more macho than man.
This is an atypical police film from 1981 and an opportunity to see a younger Kent Cheng playing a policeman.
