She leaves for the U.S. where she meets Nick, a student who wants to escape from his conservative, and troubled family. Nick really loves Arini, but the latter is still involved in many matters related to her ex-husband. The director, Sophan Sophiaan, who has a political activist family background, always uses his films to criticise social and political issues. Only this time, he does it in a more subtle way.

Iwan, a high school student, loses his bajaj-driver father because the jeep of Dance Lintang, a famous singer, runs him down. Iwan’s pregnant mother has to work hard. Iwan has been singing on the streets for money, and now he gets help from his younger siblings who sell newspapers. But his mother passes away when she gives birth to her last child so Iwan vows to raise his siblings. But when he cannot afford it, he puts his siblings in the orphanage. Then when his girlfriend Tia yells at him for doing that, he instinctively runs off with his siblings. He is imprisoned as a result but a journalist, Miftah, who knows his talent, bails him out. Iwan decides to quit school and Miftah manages to record him. Dance is furious when he hears that Iwan is making a record. He approaches the producer and destroys the recording tape. Then Dance gets arrested for narcotics while Iwan’s record is a major hit, so he brings his siblings home from the orphanage.

The story of Tantini from the Sanca Bachtiar family who is kidnapped and later adopted by the Arnold van Dyk family. They change her name into Tinneke. Sanca finds out about her daughter’s whereabout several years after the child is declared dead. He tries hard and eventually succeeds on getting Tinneke back.

She is advised to return home as her father, who accuses the stepmother of doing something bad to her, is frantic with worry. Yeyen finally goes home.

A Cape Fear-style psycho-thriller told in flashback mode. The peace of legal prosecutor Johan Arifin’s family is broken by the arrival of various fears in the form of a flirtatious waiter, threatening letters and calls. The culprit is Barman and his motive is revenge as Johan’s testimony put him in jail. The climax is the kidnapping of Johan’s wife and son.

A love triangle develops between two brothers: Dimas, a painter and Anton, a scholar, when they fall in love with Amalia. Anton dates Amalia before Dimas, because they are friends from college. But then Amalia likes Dimas better, feeling that she has a better connection with him. Anton is angry and Dimas and Amalia are judged before their entire family. The feud between the two brothers continues, until one of their house staff, Mr. Leman, tells Dimas that he was adopted. Dimas runs away from the family and he joins a ship crew. Since Dimas is gone and Amalia is pregnant, Anton marries Amalia. Two years later, Amalia is going to meet Dimas in the harbour. In a meeting between Anton and Dimas, who is currently dating a singer named Nana, Anton explains everything. Dimas rushes to meet Amalia and his child but before they can meet, a heavy load falls onto Dimas, and it kills him instantly.

Andi and Erna have been married for 13 years but Andi’s parents still disapprove of their marriage. Andi’s lawyer father once prosecuted Erna’s father. Erna’s brother, Tato, also dislikes their marriage, as tried to bribe someone to help his father and goes to jail because of it. After his release from prison, Tato wants to take revenge on Andi. Erna still tries to ask Andi’s father for his blessings, but the father is adamant, though his wife has grown to care about grandson, Ari, who is found to have a brain tumour that requires surgery. When he knows about the condition, Andi’s father starts to soften and so does Tato. Ari’s operation fails, so he asks that his eyes be given to a blind girl.
