Ajay questions his mother and finds out that his dad was framed by the hospital owner, Rai Bahadur. He and Asha meet Ravi in prison and swear to avenge his humiliation.

Justice Saxena's wife, the two children and Rajesh Saxena leave the city. Dilawar Singh finds them and kills the Judge's wife and throws Babloo out of the running train. Before dying, Babloo donates his eyes to Karan. Karan vows that he will not remove his goggles till he confronts Dilawar Singh.
After the death of his first wife, Mr. Verma, who's the managing director of his firm remarries Durgadevi (Bindu), so that she can look after his son, Ravi Verma (Jeetendra). She actually seems to have a good relationship with both him and Ravi. Subsequently, Durga also gets pregnant and gives birth to a son Kiran Verma (Kiran Kumar). After a few years as Mr. Verma passes away, Durga decides to enter into politics with the help of Sewakram (Prem Chopra). Ravi takes over from his father as the managing director of his firm and instantly falls in love with a poor girl, Usha (Madhuri Dixit) after seeing a dance performance of hers.

Advocate Jayant (Rajesh Khanna) a criminal lawyer believes that a lawyer's duty is to do service to his client alone and to bail him out of his trouble even if his client is in reality a criminal. His close friend Amit is an honest police inspector who brings many of the goons that are part of gang of smugglers led by Mulchand Malhotra but they are let off by the court when he uses his skills and knowledge about the loopholes in law. Jayant helps Mulchand in setting his workmen free from jail. Amit Gupta asks Jayant to be more responsible when he defends criminals, who are repeat offenders. Later Amit is killed and this motivates Amit's brother Vijay to join the police force.
Advocate Gautam Mehra lives in Bombay with his wife, Anju, and a daughter, Rakhsa. One day while returning from court he sees a woman being molested. He stops, phones the police, and then tries to stop the molester, in vain, though as he gets attacked and loses consciousness. But the police do arrive and arrest the molester. While on his deathbed, the Emperor promises that his Senapati, Vikram Singh, will be treated like his son, and he will get married to a woman from a royal family.
