The Swedish doctor of literature Vilhelm Canitz arrive to Lugano in Italy for a few weeks stay at a medical clinic. Canitz considers himself to be quite healthy and the stay as an extended vacation. He meets a number of patients at the clinic suffering of terminal illnesses, including Vellamo Toivonen (Lindfors). The patients deal with the fact that they will not leave the clinic alive in different ways; with self-destruction, denial or imprudence. Plot by Mattias Thuresson.

1813. The Swedish army is fighting in the War of the Sixth Coalition. The popular general Von Döbeln is arrested for sending the army against the French in breach of orders by the crown prince. At the court martial he is sentenced to death but is pardoned by the king and sent to prison instead. A group of conspirators are planning to set him free and make him their leader in a coup d'etat.
The unemployed Loffe meets his old friend Wilhelm and gets some money. A year later it's time for Loffe to help Wilhelm.
"Life Goes On" - The Swedish officer Mikael Bourg has served with the French army in Africa. When he returns to Sweden after many years abroad to recover from malaria, he meets his son, a student who prefers partying with his frat friends instead of his bank job; a disappointment in his father's eyes. Swedish comedy from 1940. Kurre Karlsson, a simple man of the people, will be called up for military training given by an anti-aircraft units at sea. He does not like the military and will do anything to get away. One day he steals a wallet and in it finds his paper suggesting that a spy is on the move who think stealing trade secrets about the weapons factory in Granefors.
Torsten and Sven are in love with Inger, who prefers Sven. Due to jealousy, Torsten destroys the radio system aboard the fishing boat as Sven will release the following morning. During the fishing season it blows up, but as the radio is not working, the crew does not know anything about the danger.
John is the skipper of the Albertina which is moored in Mariehamn. Nearby is luxury yacht Sea Star, where Ann-Mari boards. She begins to take an interest in John and makes sure to come aboard the Albertina to meet him.
Sigge and Putte has moved to a private school, where they fight and get up to mischief.
