J.J. is a rookie in the Sheriff's Department and the first black officer at that station. Racial tensions run high in the department as some of J.J.'s fellow officers resent his presence. His only real friend is the other new trooper, the first female officer to work there, who also suffers similar discrimination in the otherwise all-white male work environment. When J.J. becomes increasingly aware of police corruption during the murder trial of Teddy Woods, whom he helped to arrest, he faces difficult decisions and puts himself into grave personal danger in the service of justice.
A security guard is enticed to scam a businessman for his insurance money by the man's attractive wife. The trouble begins when he discovers that the husband has ties to the mob.
After being parted for thirteen years, Doug and Cindy get together for a relaxing trip into the Colorado Rockies and a chance to get reacquainted. Their plans go terribly awry, however, when a killer grizzly bear turns up in their area, pursued by two ex-cons who are determined to kill it and collect a $500 bounty. Doug and Cindy quickly rediscover their love for one another during their time on the mountain, but if they're to have any life together they'll have to escape the beasts that lurk around them.
