Alarm in Kiel: In the event of an uprising in the forensic clinic, the murderer of women Kai Korthals manages to escape from security detention. Korthals, who stalked and killed numerous women in their apartments as a "silent guest", became Borowski's personal nightmare six years ago when he kidnapped his fiancée Frieda Jung. At that time the inspector managed to free Frieda, but his relationship broke up. Commissioner Mila Sahin wants to hunt down Kai Korthals by all means. But is Borowski ready to face his adversary again? In Kai's cell there are letters from admirers. Apparently, numerous women were attracted to the killer and made promises to him, including Teresa the telephone counselor. These women are now in grave danger. The corpse of a young Serbian woman is found in the boot, and once again Franz finds himself with his work cut out.

Together with his friend and colleague Rudi Birkenberger they try to prove his innocence and to find the true murderer. However, there are more Problems to be solved: like Paul, his grandma's young love, or his girlfriend Susi, who pushes for marriage.
