Silvester falls in love with the adorable young Kathy and channels his experiences into his new novel. There's no lack of material for his book: in addition to his own romance, there's a wine-adulterating scheme, a forbidden love, the patriarch's icy disapproval of Kathy's "destroying" Silvester's marriage... Barbara's unannounced visit adds fuel to the fire when she tells Kathy that Silvester always needs love affairs to inspire his imagination.
