Gopalam is a small-time tailor who dreams of becoming a fashion designer. In order to make it big, he traps a rich girl in his village. This is also the time when yet another rich girl called Ammulu falls head over heels for Gopalam. Seeing this, he too gets involved in the relationship. But the twist in the tale arises when a rich NRI enters the scene. Once again, Gopalam changes track and traps her somehow. Now, he is stuck between the three girls and rest of the story is as to whom does he end up with at the end.

However, Srinivas has a condition that he must know the girl's character. For this, he switches places with Ranga Babu. As expected, misunderstandings and confusions arise. Instead it has Rajendra Prasad's exquisite brand of clever humor. An inherent trickster (rajendra Prasad), falls in love with a new girl in town. The girl, much aware of his reputation for lying at the drop of a hat, lays down a condition that he should not tell a single lie for one full month for her to accept his proposal. He shall get his release on the 1st of April (title of movie). How this leads to a slew of comic scenarios and takes him from one trouble to the next forms the basis of the movie. One of the most popular humorous movies of its times, this movie is a quintessential Rajendra Prasad movie. Probably one of his 5 best comedies.

Suhasini (Suhasini) is a poor woman who has a younger brother and two sisters along with an irresponsible drunk father. Her elder sister (Sangeetha) is the breadwinner of the family. Suhasini studies for a law degree with the hard earned money of her sister and she prepares to marry an older person so that she would get a sum of 10,000 rupees. Shankar (Bhanuchander), also a lawyer incidentally arrives in this scene and finds the self-respect of Suhasini to be quite admirable. In a dramatic situation, he marries Suhasini in humanitarian value. Shankar's mother Lakshmi is an extremely money-minded woman and plans to get his son married for a high dowry. Obviously, she gets shocked by this marriage and starts despising her daughter in law. Her husband (Prabhakara Reddy) is a very good gentleman who likes the good nature of Suhasini and her presence of mind. But the money-minded mother-in-law plans to create a rift between Suhasini and Shankar when the former goes on a tour to Delhi.

The story of an Ornithologist and a Police investigator coming to a forest and trying to solve the mystery of a series of killings allegedly by a man-eating tiger but soon find out it is a serial killer and the identity is revealed in the end.

Devdas is a photographer who helps a homeless woman, Sitaara, to become a model and film star. Although he himself likes her, he helps her reunite with the love of her life.

Devdas (Subhalekha Sudhakar) is a professional photographer. On a train he meets a melancholy woman (Bhanupriya) who boards the train without a proper ticket. He helps her with the money and tries to strike up a conversation. She only tells him that her name is "Sitaara" and that she has nowhere to go in the big city. The reticent Sitara intrigues Devdas, who takes pity on her position and offers her shelter at his home. Devdas sees the photogenic face of Sitaara and helps her become a model and film star.
