Vangelis Traiforos

Two prisoners escape from the prison and they end up hidding in a small remote village trying to cross the borders.

Thanasis works in the café he inherited from his father and hopes that his children will manage to complete their studies. This desire is based on his own dream of becoming a judge, which never happened due to his father's objections.

Three stories everyday madness. A retired headmaster angers me when I see the marks of his granddaughter and soon discovers that most education is dominated by bribing. A civil servant who lives a boring life with his wife and his mother in law, and a woman who has been trying for years to get its land in the city plan!

Babis (Nikos Rizos), after his release, finds it difficult to balance between the groups with the guys and jobber of Piraeus, and the strict surveillance of the police, who closed the once in prison. He will try to sell the alleged Byzantine icons that makes a fellow prisoner, but will be arrested. It will be released as there were images of value, and will be informed that the mother of the same (Mary Metaxa) alerted the police to remove him from the unlawful activity.

The movie is about dictatorships in Greece – first, the Metaxas regime (1936-1940), and then the Colonels’ Junta (1967-74). In Part One, the Metaxas regime is depicted as a circus, where Thanasis (Thanasis Vengos) is a clown trying to conceal a young colleague’s subversive action. In Part Two, we see Thanasis suffer because of his honesty and kindness, in a country where the system’s irrationality is clearly evident.

Two itinerant actress, the Vlakometros and Poniridis, arrive at Adira, a city of ancient Greece groaning under the despotic rule of the tyrant Hippias, to give a performance. Because Vlakometros is identical to Hippias, the dissident intellectuals will try to use it to overthrow the tyrant. A series of incredible comedic misunderstandings and unexpected will follow in this brilliant political satire, which had experienced serious problems with censorship when the Junta was.

Thanasis (Thanasis Vengos) is an honest working man who has to support his sister’s family as well, as Maria’s husband is only interested in football. Thanasis is in love with Juliet (Aimilia Ypsilanti), daughter of a rough butcher from Mani, who wants to have her marry a sausage-tycoon.

Kostas Karavedouras is the conductor of the municipal orchestra in a small town in the country, when he decides to leave for Athens to become a great classic music performer. He is staying temporarily at his cousin’s place and he spends all his spare money with his landlady’s daughter. He works in many places just because he doesn’t want to work as a bouzouki player. Finally, the owner of the club where he was working as a waiter, takes him into performing for him and Kostas ends up being what he always avoided, a bouzouki player.
