Raghu and Shanti are divorced couple which sparks problems between both respective younger brothers.
Gowri, a woman in search of her lover Suresh, joins a group of struggling roadside singers. Friendship grows between them as they achieve success, but things change when Suresh returns.
Thangapandian, an honest forest officer, is transferred to a village. The village chief cuts illegally the sandalwood trees. Radha is brought up by her adoptive family. When she was young, her father, a famous singer, died in a car accident. Thangapandian falls in love with Radha. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
Young Ragupathy was brought up by his paternal grandfather, Valayapathy. He decided to go to the city in search of a new job and life. In the city he meets Senthil, who guides him into an interview in a 5-star hotel owned by Rajkumar . While in the hotel, Ragupathy meets Kowsalya, and falls in love with her. During this time, many attempts are made to kill Rajkumar by his uncle and son Nassar. The blame for this murder attaches to Rajkumar's mother, who is actually Ragupathy's mother. Realizing all this, Ragupathy takes an oath that he will not let harm come to Rajkumar.
Radha decides to leave her home permanently after learning that she has a life-threatening illness. She later falls in love with a man named Ravi and agrees to marry him on a certain condition.

Then Sindhudhe Vaanam is a 1975 Indian Tamil-language film starring Sivakumar and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. It was directed by Ra. Sankaran and produced by V.C. Ganesan. V. Kumar composed the soundtracks. Two beautiful melodious songs were also the special reasons for the film's fame.
The movie deals with four friends. Ravichandran, the hero, is the son of a rich man (Veera Raghavan), and he along with his three friends Nagesh, Mali and Murthy, lives in a mansion owned by his father. While they plan to go on a holiday, a young woman (Kanchana) sneaks into the bungalow, fleeing from danger, and begs the hero to offer her solace for two days. He agrees and the trip is cancelled. Kanchanca and Ravichandran fall in love. Another woman (Vijaya Chandrika) suddenly appears one night and leaves her child, Baby Shanthi, with a note claiming that she is Mali’s daughter. Mali asserts that he has never seen the baby before and asserts that he doesn’t know the woman in the letter. But he falls for the child and brings her up with love and affection.
