Mithu Mukherjee belonged to a poor family. Her father was suffering from a chronic disease. They didn't have enough money to buy his medicines. Her father (Asit Baran)'s friend had cheated him due to which they had to mortgage even their house to him. Mithu Mukherjee decided to help her family and came out of her house in search ofa job. At last she got a job in a company which however stopped its business within a few months' time. She then joined a hotel where she met Uttam Kumar. Uttam Kumar was a bar singer there. He was a singer in disguise and he used to help distressed women who were exploited by the so-called upper class rich people. Mithu Mukherjee (Khuku) was helped by Uttam Kumar who helped her family get her ancestral house back. At last Uttam Kumar gave all the secret details of those people to the police and took his leave.

Anupam, a writer, loves his family dearly and besides looking after his mother, he also funds his brothers' education. However, he loses his sanity when his perfect life falls apart.

Starring Uttam Kumar in a double role. One is the unruly, rich and spoilt brat who is killed by his enemies, while the other, a good guy, reaches the dead man's house and is compelled to take his place

Amal Basu, who decides to visit his hometown, meets Lila on the train. When he goes to his friend Nabendu's home, he learns that Lila is his sister and a smuggler.

Rajat, a young man, meets Manju, a rich girl whose father is looking for her. Though Rajat initially slyly tells her father her whereabouts, he lands up falling in love with her.

Chaowa Pawa (English: Desires and Fulfilment) is a 1959 Indian Bengali-language romantic comedy film directed by Yatrik. It is based on the American film It Happened One Night. The film features Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen.
