Triggered by the death of a family member a young woman embarks on a singular journey of helping people who are about to die. The dying have nothing to lose and need lasting moments of intimacy that Simone finds herself willing to give at no cost. But Boris won't let her get away with it quite that easily. He realizes how well she hides behind those intense but short lived relationships. He won't hesitate to provoke her in a violent burst.

For months, Sandra in Montreal and Amina, a Syrian-American, bond romantically and intellectually. Encouraged by Sandra, Amina launches a blog called "A Gay Girl in Damascus," representing a marginalized voice in the Middle East on politics, religion, and sexuality. Rapidly garnering worldwide attention, Amina becomes something of a star blogger. But when Syria enters the Arab uprising of 2011, Sandra receives word that Amina has been kidnapped, and soon the search for Amina becomes a global concern and an even larger mystery to solve.
Victor Pellerin, a young star of the Art scene, burnt a fortune in paintings and left Montreal without a trace. Sophie Deraspe revisits the events, and meets the many people who got charmed by this troubling character, who seemed as comfortable with the paint brush as with other firearms.
The Seven Last Words sounds out the experiential states and rituals particular to humanity, based on seven themes expressed in an oratorio: forgiveness, hope, relation, abandonment, distress, triumph, and life after the death.
