La fièvre du ballroom

A symbol of nostalgia for some, authentic object of art for others, the 33 rpm record is gaining in popularity. Even if it was pushed aside in 1990 by the compact disc, it’s now attracting a new generation of music lovers.

Luca Patuelli is an internationally renown Bboy dancer known as LazyLegz. He born with Arthrogryposis, a disorder that makes the use of his legs almost impossible. For the past few years, he has been the head of a Hip Hop dance program: Projet RAD, an urban dance program in which he gives people with disabilities a chance to follow inclusive classes in a safe environment adapted to their needs.

Through the specificity of certain gestures and movements, we find five different athletes training. What seemed to be only a simple workout routine becomes a ballet in which all athletes are transformed into notes of a musical score of a symphonic movement where the notes fit together and where the rhythmic repetition punctuate their movements and accord at a dance.
