When the inexperienced football coach Selma Nord takes over Vinninge BK, the team is in last place in division 7 Södra Skåne (South Skåne). Selma immediately finds herself at odds with the star player of the team Roy "Kroyf" Andersson, who is skeptical of the new coach's abilities. The team spirit is in jeopardy, and the situation gets worse when the owners of the team's home field threatens to turn it into a sugar beet plantation once the season is over. Now Selma has to win Kroyf over to her side.
Crime Inspector Maria Wern returns to duty at the Police Department on the island of Gotland, and is immediately thrown into a murder investigation.
Gustav and Lena Svensson are facing their 30-year wedding anniversary , but Lena can't stand Gustav anymore and therefore wants to divorce him. While in a party promoted by her chief and friend Måns Wenngren, the fiscal attorney, Rebecka Martinsson, receives a call from her former sister-in-law, Sanna Strandgård, telling that her brother and preacher Viktor was murdered, stabbed and with severed hands, and she would be arrested. Rebecka heads to her hometown Kiruna and defends Sanna, but the evidences found by the police in her house prove her guilty and she is arrested. While investigating the crime, Rebecka is haunted by her past and faces the bigoted and fanatic religious dwellers that worship the local church, and is more convinced of the innocence of Sanna.
