Edgar learns that an old, rich, oil-man flame (Tom Kennedy) of his mother-in-law (Dot Farley) is coming to claim his bride. Meanwhile, his brother-in-law (Jack Rice) has bought an interest in an outboard motor that is supposed to run all day on a cupful of gas. The suitor says he will finance it if the test is a success. Edgar is accidently pulled into the lake with the motor and it works well, but the "rich" beau says he will finance it as soon as he can find somebody to finance the drilling of his first oil well.

A forger has made a copy of a Spanish land grant and Arnold is after it. Arnold and his men attack, shoot the forger, and take the deed while Russ tries unsuccessfully to stop them. Arnold presents it at the recorders office. It appears authentic and he starts evicting ranchers from their land. But Russ knows something is wrong as one of Arnold's men was a man he fought with during the attack.

Henry's brother Patton (Charles Middleton) and a shadowy figure known as The Voice (NO, not the Narrator)plan to kill all the relatives and divide the fortune. As the murder attempts multiply, Bob, Ruth and Duke endeavor to track down the masterminds and bring them to justice.
