This "Red Ryder" entry stars Gordon "Wild Bill" Elliot as Ryder. The heroine (Linda Stirling) is having troubles with the freight company that she owns. Time and again, her coaches are beset by hooded thieves. With Red Ryder on the job, the robbers haven't got a chance, but they put up a fight anyway.

Edgar learns that an old, rich, oil-man flame (Tom Kennedy) of his mother-in-law (Dot Farley) is coming to claim his bride. Meanwhile, his brother-in-law (Jack Rice) has bought an interest in an outboard motor that is supposed to run all day on a cupful of gas. The suitor says he will finance it if the test is a success. Edgar is accidently pulled into the lake with the motor and it works well, but the "rich" beau says he will finance it as soon as he can find somebody to finance the drilling of his first oil well.

Dave and Chito are working for Melburn who is looking for wild horses. Olmstead has his men looking for then also. When Dave finds them first, Olmstead buys them from Melburn and then kills him. A clue leads Dave to Olmstead's where he breaks in and finds the murder weapon. When he takes his evidence to the Marshal he learns Olmstead has been murdered and he is the one under arrest.

A forger has made a copy of a Spanish land grant and Arnold is after it. Arnold and his men attack, shoot the forger, and take the deed while Russ tries unsuccessfully to stop them. Arnold presents it at the recorders office. It appears authentic and he starts evicting ranchers from their land. But Russ knows something is wrong as one of Arnold's men was a man he fought with during the attack.
One of two towns will be selected to be the County Seat and Editor Palmer has a gang working to make sure his town is chosen. Investigating the lawlessness, Red Ryder poses as an outlaw to get into the gang hoping to find out who the boss is. Bob meets the family at their mansion and questions Henry's sister, his half-brother, his nephew and his nephew's bride, and Ruth Allen (Amelita Ward), whose father was in business with Henry. Henry's brother Patton (Charles Middleton) and a shadowy figure known as The Voice (NO, not the Narrator)plan to kill all the relatives and divide the fortune. As the murder attempts multiply, Bob, Ruth and Duke endeavor to track down the masterminds and bring them to justice.
After the Civil War, veteran Jim Christi (Allan Lane) returns to Texas, where he is unjustly accused of murder. In flashback, Mr. Christi relates the story of his father Corpus Christi Jim. After robbing a stage, Jim and partners Rocky and Steve decide to go straight and return the money. But the fourth member of the gang, Spade refuses and leaves. The two former partners soon find themselves on opposite sides of the law.
