Hung is a street-wise smart aleck and Mak is his dumb sidekick. They are partners, mostly in unlawful jobs. One night, the two are spotted by Zaza in the middle of a heist. Consequently, they go to jail. Hung hates Zaza for this. In prison they are befriended by old timer Hui. The three run afoul of boss Orca and try to avoid Orca by insulting chief warden Ko. They are brought before correction officer who is none other than Zaza. Hung hates Zaza more.
Shui (Stephen Chow) and Ti (Sandra Ng) elope off, against the wishes of Ti's father (Shing Fui-On). They live the life of a struggling young couple. Shui finds a job at a jewelry importer and his hard work is noticed by the boss lady (Suki Kwan). As Shui moves up the corporate ladder, the chasm between Shui and Ti starts to widen, and the bond between Suki and Shui tightens.
"Romeo and Juliet" in Hong Kong, except the widow Capulet is father Montague's childhood sweetheart. The young lovers try to reconcile their mothers with the help of the father, who is left with a bad taste in his mouth.
