Asha Parekh
Adarsh (Sanjay Dutt) and Aniket (Govinda) are brothers. Aniket is the elder, while Adarsh is the younger one. Both go to the same college, where beautiful Guddi (Mamta Kulkarni) has a crush on him, and vice-versa. Meanwhile, Adarsh is up to college pranks and practical jokes. One of these pranks and jokes land him into trouble in a girls only hostel. When the time comes to leave college and seek a career, both brothers chose a different path, one of which leads to the destruction and separation of their family. Will they reunite in the end?
Professor Vidyadhar teaches Hindi in a college and resides in a flat with his wife, Shobha, and school-going son, Pappu. He leads a fairly routine and mundane life, until a new resident in the flat upstairs moves in - an attractive young actress by the name of Menaka Khanna, the daughter of a wealthy man, Dinanath.

Bashir is arrested and taken to Court, where Justice Diwan finds him guilty and orders that he be hanged. Then a man named Bhurre gets killed, and the evidence points to Rajan, who is also arrested and produced before Justice Diwan, who also finds him guilty, and sentences him to death. Rahim then finds that his house had been burned down and is out on the street. Then the unexpected happens, Sharda is killed, and Diwan finds out that Rahim had been seen outside his house. Will Rahim be the next accused to be sentenced to death by Diwan?

Thakur Rajnath Singh Chouhan opens a can of worms when he announces that he is going to marry a prostitute by the name of Tulsi. His mother will not even consider Tulsi as a daughter-in-law, and would prefer that he marry Sanjukta. Tulsi convinces him that he should marry the woman of his mother's choice, which he eventually does. Thereafter Tulsi gives birth to a baby boy, Ajay, and passes away. Sanjukta raises Ajay as her own child, even after the passing away of Rajnath, and even after giving birth to Pratap. Ajay is given the entire responsibility of the estate, while Pratap squanders money on courtesans and alcohol. Sanjukta trusts Ajay, until one day when a villager complains to her that Ajay has got his daughter, Geeta, pregnant; additionally she also finds out that Ajay has been misappropriating money, and also owes money to a prostitute named Leelabai, the very woman who sold Tulsi to Rajnath.
Wealthy Dr. Shivnath decides to adopt an injured orphan named Rajkumar, who has been separated from his sister, Munni, much to the chagrin of his wife, Janki, who resents him and reserves her love for her two biological children, Premnath and Sudha. Years later all the children have grown up, and Dr. Shivnath may have nothing but regret in adopting Rajkumar - who is not only living a dual life; getting into arguments and fisticuffs with Premnath; but may also soon be arrested by Inspector Chauhan for marketing and distributing fake currency.
On the night of his marriage to Asha (Asha Parekh), Anand (Sunil Dutt) is arrested for allegedly murdering his business partner, and held in prison until his trial takes place. Anand refuses to say anything in his favor, thus leading his lawyer to conclude that Anand did commit this homicide. Refusing to believe that their brother could murder, his brothers, Amar and Pawan (Rakesh Roshan and Tariq respectively) kidnap Judge Ganguly's (Iftekhar) only daughter, Nisha (Reena Roy), in order to force the judge to find Anand not guilty, with disasterous results.
Rani is a child who is being brought up by her mother, Kamla (Asha Parekh) as her dad Rajendra (Rajendra Kumar) has gone out of town on business. Both mother and daughter live with their cruel and selfish relatives (Satyendra Kapoor and Lalita Kumari). They live with her abusive uncle. One day, Kamla gets the news that her husband is returning, and she is overjoyed. This joy turns to sorrow when she finds out that he has died in an accident. Shortly thereafter, she too passes away, leaving poor Rani at the hands of the cruel relatives. Her best friend Pappu (Master Abbas) tells her about Lalpari (Reena Roy). She succeeds to reach heaven with the help of Lalpari and manages to trick Yamraj (God of truth and death). However, Rani's father was only injured in the plane crash. Rani lives happily ever after with her parents. This movie also features the story of Cinderella and Gulliver's Travels in two songs.

Sunita is a young woman who ends up married to the wrong man, Rajan. Along the way, the caravan crosses paths with a group of gypsies that includes some causal young men. Sunita soon falls in love with Mohan but Nisha is attracted to Mohan and this puts Sunita in danger again to make matters worse Rajan has conducted a manhunt to find Sunita either by hook or by crook.

In a small industrial town near Bombay lives Bholanath, who works at the local mill, and is the proud husband of Gauri, a daughter, Champa, and above all his son, Ramaiya, who is a graduate in the arts faculty, - the only one in this town who has attained this degree. But times are hard, and jobs are difficult to come by. When Bholanath loses his job, Ramaiya decides to find employment, and does so as a menial worker in the same mill his dad used to work. Ramaiya is very popular with his co-workers and they soon elect him as their new union leader. This puts Ramaiya in conflict with the Management of the Mill, headed by the owner, Kapoor, who has ordered that Ramaiya be eliminated post haste. But Ramaiya is determined to address the workers' grievances, and he gets himself framed for theft; has the police on the lookout for him, and so Ramaiya goes into hiding.
Widowed Radha lives in rural India in the 1960s, along with two sons: Bharat and Puran. While she would like to educate her sons and ensure that they lead good lives, she cannot do so on her own, and must sacrifice the career of one son so that the second can achieve this goal. Bharat sacrifices everything to educate his brother Puran. However, Puran turns into a greedy man and gets involved in drug trafficking in order to make money.

Asha feels sorry for him, and arranges to get him employed with her dad, which he does so, not knowing that his employer is Asha's dad. Asha's dad wants her to get married to Ashwini, and he soon announces their engagement. Ashwini finds out that Asha is in love with Vikas, and arranges an accident for Vikas.

She wants Ashok to get married to Sarita, but Ashok does not show any interest in Sarita. In Japan, Ashok meets with Asha and both fall in love. Asha's uncle wants Asha to marry Pran, but Asha does not like Pran and runs away with Ashok. Pran runs down Ashok with his car, and Ashok is hospitalized and may lose his eye-sight. Gayetridevi will soon find out which of the two girls - Asha - who she does not approve of - or Sarita, will take of her blind son.

Ramdas is a trusting individual, and trusts everybody around him. When times turn bad for him, he entrusts the life of his son, Bansi, to his trusted employee, Ronaklal, and departs. He regularly sends money to Ronaklal to provide for the upkeep of his son, but Ronaklal uses this money to educate his son, Deepak, keeps Bansi uneducated, and makes him do a lot of manual work. But Mona's guardian would like her to marry Biharilal alias Difu, who is foreign returned and comes from a very wealthy family. Mona and her friends embark on a trip to Srinagar, and Mohan follows her there. Then Jamuna's overjoyed husband announces the return of his son, Mohan, back to his household.
Raj Kumar is a wealthy businessman and dislikes everything ugly. When his wife, Kamla, becomes pregnant and gives birth to an ugly son, he asks the attending Dr. Mathur to inform his wife that their child was still-born. Dr. Mathur places the child in the hands of Rahmat and his wife, Naseeban, who welcome him with open arms. But misfortune follows them, as the child, who is named Pyare, accidentally burns their dwelling down, killing Naseeban. Rahmat then re-locates to his village when he teaches Pyare the skills required to play musical instruments and sing. Years later, Rahmat passes away, and informs Pyare that he is really a Hindu. Dr. Mathur fills the rest of the blanks for Pyare, and arranges a song and dance play and hopes that Raj will overcome his dislike for his now-grown son.

When Raja defends himself, and calls himself Roop, his very own mother denies this claim, and instead states that Chandra is Roop, her only son. Raja alias Roop must now make attempts to prove himself, and realizes that this is indeed an uphill task.
