ACP Bose (Karthik) is a sincere police officer happily married (Anu Hassan) and living with his parents and younger brother Velu (Arun Vijay). Velu is a college student and he falls in love with his classmate Anjali (Dhansika). Umapathi (Chandrasekar) enters, who is notorious for settlements and land deals. He kills anyone who comes in his way and does not leave any evidence or witness behind. He takes a loan of 100 crores from a private bank with the help of a cunning DGP and a politician. He kills the bank’s chairman in order to avoid repayment and puts the blame on Bose. Bose tries to stop Umapathi. Velu also gets into disputes with Umapathi. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Shanmugham (Jeevan) comes to Chennai with his mother in search of his father (Raj Kapoor). When they get to the place, they see him living with another wife. In a hussle, he kills this old wife and sends this boy outside to beg. He comes out with dead mother and an auto driver (Chandrasekar) helps with all he has to cremate the body and gives some money and asks him to go back to his own city. Shanmugham wanted to read and become a great man. But he gets caught with the corrupt police guys and was used for their jobs (which involved murder). So when he grows up, he becomes a big rowdy by the name of Thotta (bullet).

Ramakrishnan and Arun both are ACP’s and colleagues, Ramakrishnan fall in love with Divya, and Arun loves Geetha, these two couples get married, but due to some misunderstanding between Arun & Geetha makes them depart, in the flash back. Mean time the Rajiv Gandhi assassination was carried out by Sivarasan & co and they get hide in Bangalore. As a special officer Karthikeyan is taking in charge to find the odd peoples. With the help of two ACP’s Ramakrishnan & Arun, Karthikeyan tracking the network in Tamil Nadu, at last they able to find the Sivarasan gang hiding in Bangalore, in a successful operation Ramakrishnan tries to capture the Sivarasn allies, but unfortunately Ramakrishnan able to capture only the dead bodies of the terrorist organization. What transpires later forms the crux of the story. Based on True Events (Rajiv Gandhi's Assasination).

Thirupathi (Vadivelu), Ezhumalai (S. Ve. Shekher) and Venkatesa (Prabhu) are poor friends who tried to become rich. Nachiappan (Venniradai Moorthy), a bungalow watchman, has three daughters : Lalitha (Kovai Sarala), Padmini (Urvashi) and Ragini (Roja). When his owner left the bungalow on vacation, Nachiappan's daughters decide to live there. Then, Nachiappan rents his owner's top portion bungalow to Thirupathi, Ezhumalai and Venkatesa who lied about their job.

Siva lives with his father Soundarapandian, a police officer, and his little sister Geetha. Geetha gets engaged and Siva notes that his father will not invite his family to the wedding. Hence, Siva finds out his family's village and goes there. At his father's village, Siva is insulted by his uncle Sankarapandian, while his aunt Kamachi welcomes him. Soon, Kamachi's daughter Selvi and Siva fall in love with each other. How Siva reconciles his uncle and marries Selvi forms the rest of the story.

Hopeless, Meena ties to herself a Thaali, she says to Veerasamy that Muthu marries her and Muthu confirms to save her honor. Veerasamy gets angry but when Muthu says the truth, he apologizes to him. Kumar beats Muthu's mother and kidnaps Meena, he arranges a forced marriage between him and Meena. Muthu saves her and he marry her with his best friend blessing.

The local village president has an eye for the heroine and acts as barrier to their love. How these two dancers succeed in their love is hold in a entertaining manner with some nice comedies and interesting twists in the screen play. One of the main highlight of the film is the comedy track of Goundamani and Senthil. This film has famous banana comedy which is still one of the best comedy in kollywood. Its nice family entertaining movie. The songs are very good. Music by Illayaraja who is one of the famous greatest musician in India.
