Vlatka Vorkapić

The third part of "Zagreb Stories" franchise that connects short films about Zagreb into one whole. The plot of six short stories takes place during public holidays.

Sonja, a city girl from Zagreb, a vegetarian and a hardcore animal-rights activist, strongly opposes bullfighting in Dalmatinska zagora (Dalmatian Hinterland). People find this irritating and they conclude that no matter how passionately Sonja loves animals, she would never dare to stand in front of a bull. Bets are raised and Sonja faces a challenge in the form of Ante, known far and wide for his powers of persuasion.

Ana’s Poems is a story about the folk poet Ana Šebalj from the village of Komletinci near Vinkovci and her best friend Mandica. These two "little girls trapped in the bodies of old women", as they were described by a film critic, in their lonely lives only have each other and the remarkable vitality of spirit.

Croatia has 718 islands and 467 cliffs. 67 islands are inhabited, and only nine of them have direct access to potable water. The remaining islands are dependent on water carrier ships. Our Daily Water is a Mediterranean comedy about one such ship and its crew.
